Distology, a leading specialist cybersecurity distributor, has signed a deal with AI security vendor Snyk that will help VARs capitalise on the growing demand for application-level AI security.
The agreement will see Distology bring Snyk’s AI Security Platform and Agent Security solutions to its partner base acrosskey Northern European regions, giving VARs access to a rapidly expanding area of the cybersecurity market.
As AI tools are increasingly deployed for software development, organisations are generating more code than ever, often without the security technology to match. That’s creating a gap that vendors and partners are now racing to fill, according to Sarah Geary, CCO at Distology.
“We’re seeing a growing demand from organisations that needto secure applications earlier in the development process,” Geary says. “AI is accelerating software development, and customers need a security solution that can keep pace. By bringing Snyk into our portfolio, we’re giving our partners a way to step into that conversation. This isn’t a transactional sale. Snyk’s platform is designed to help developers identify and fix vulnerabilities as they write code, rather than later in the lifecycle when issues are more complex and can be more expensive to resolve. The platform also addresses risks introduced through open-source components and AI-assisted development.
Tom Evetts, VP Sales and General Manager at Snyk, says that while AI is accelerating software delivery, organisations are struggling to maintain visibility and control over security. “Speed of development is important for organisations to maintain their competitive edge,” he says. “But they know it can’t happen at the expense of security, which is why demand in our space is so strong and why we wanted to appoint a partner we trust that can help support our channel in the right way.”
Evetts says the Distology partnership reflects a deliberate move to work with a smaller number of high-quality partners who can build capability around the platform. “We’re very selective about who we partner with,” he says. “For us, it’s about working with a company that understands the cybersecurity sector and can support partners with technical depth, strong presales and local language capability.”
The agreement, which covers the UK, DACH and Benelux markets, will give Snyk broader access to Distology’s partners and customers across the region, with local support and in-region expertise.
Distology will provide partners with access to training, technical expertise and go-to-market support, as well as enablement to help partners deliver added services such as implementation, DevOps and consultancy, retaining customers and drivingrecurring revenue. “This is about giving partners access to areas of the market where they can add real value,” says Geary. “Application and AI security is clearly one of those.”
