Track Night continues West Ham and Lyca Mobile’s long-standing partnership to empower the local community through sport
West Ham in partnership with Lyca Mobile welcomed over 120 runners to Track Night this week, bringing together people from across East London for their latest community event.
Runners took part in a guided 5k run at the London Marathon Community track in Stratford, against the backdrop of West Ham’s London Stadium, following a warm-up led by coaches from the Club and running experts. West Ham midfielder Tomáš Souček was also on-hand supporting the runners as part of a Q&A and photo session.
Part of their long-term partnership, it was the third edition of the Hammers Track Night sponsored by Lyca Mobile as part of their shared ambition to support the local community.
Speaking at the event, Emma Allinson, one of the runners from Essex, commented: “I only started running a few months ago so events like Track Night are really great for someone like me. It was a lot of fun to be on the track alongside like-minded runners, and everyone was really welcoming and friendly. I managed my second best 5K time, so I can’t wait to do this again! Best of all, I met runners from my local area so now I have new people to run with. While there’s friendly competition at these events, the main thing for me was being able to run in a supportive group at a great venue.”
It follows a series of community initiatives from West Ham and Lyca Mobile, including Hotspots, with players exploring culinary gems across the Capital, Lyca Mobile in the Community, a series of community-based workshops, coaching and football sessions, and offers for West Ham match tickets within Lyca’s Rewards programme.

The 5k run was led by Mackyard Events, a local running club that supports community events, including providing pacers to support those looking to break their PB.

“During my time at the Club, I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact it has on the local community and tonight was another fantastic example of that.
“Running has a powerful way of bringing people together and can benefit your physical and mental wellbeing. It’s brilliant to see the Club creating opportunities like this for people of all ages and abilities to get involved.”
