Software and computer services are bucking the trend in job creation from foreign direct investment (FDI), with a 39% increase in the total number of new jobs expected to be created from FDI in 2018/19, compared to a UK average decline of 24% from 2017/18 figures.
Analysis of the latest Gov.uk figures by Specops Software reveals that 11,589 jobs will be created in the sector from last year’s investment, compared to 8,336 from FDI in 2017/18.
