Chorley Compute Specialist Helps Power the Future of Cloud Gaming

Lancashire-based high performance compute specialist Sytronix has announced a new partnership with YOM, a decentralised GPU edge-compute network that turns idle consumer GPUs into ultra-low-latency infrastructure for AI inference, rendering and real-time cloud gaming.

The partnership brings together YOM’s decentralised GPU edge-compute network with Sytronix’s expertise in high performance compute infrastructure, supporting a platform designed to deliver ultra-low-latency GPU infrastructure for cloud gaming while also enabling demanding AI inference and rendering workloads.

As cloud gaming adoption continues to accelerate, the demand for powerful, efficient and low-latency compute infrastructure has never been greater. YOM leverages a decentralised network of distributed GPU resources to bring compute power closer to users, reducing latency while lowering infrastructure costs.

Unlike traditional cloud gaming models that rely heavily on large, centralised data centres, YOM orchestrates distributed GPU resources at the edge, bringing compute closer to users to dramatically reduce latency and infrastructure costs. The platform delivers edge latency below 7ms (with a sub-10ms global median) while reducing infrastructure costs by around 90% compared to traditional cloud providers. The innovation has already been recognised internationally, with YOM named a Gamescom Tech Winner in 2025.

By partnering with Sytronix, YOM gains access to specialist infrastructure expertise and engineering support as it continues to scale its network and meet the performance demands of real-time gaming workloads.

The collaboration marks another significant milestone for Sytronix, whose UK-engineered compute platforms are increasingly being deployed in some of the world’s most demanding environments, including artificial intelligence, high performance computing, rendering, simulation and sovereign infrastructure projects.

James Walsh, Founder and CEO of Sytronix, said: “It’s exciting to see technology designed and engineered here in Chorley contributing to projects with a genuinely global reach. Gaming and AI workloads are among the most demanding compute environments in the world, requiring exceptional performance, efficiency and reliability. We’re proud to be working alongside YOM to help build infrastructure designed for the next generation of interactive experiences and distributed AI.”

Andrew Pringle, Chief Commercial Officer at YOM, said: “YOM is building a new generation of GPU infrastructure that supports far more than cloud gaming. Our decentralised network is designed to power AI inference, rendering and real-time interactive experiences by bringing compute closer to users. Sytronix’s engineering expertise and understanding of high-performance compute make them an ideal partner as we continue to expand the network and deliver scalable, low-latency infrastructure around the world.”

YOM’s decentralised GPU edge-compute network enables games to be streamed instantly while also supporting AI inference and rendering workloads. By orchestrating idle GPU capacity at the edge rather than relying solely on hyperscale data centres, the platform delivers significantly lower latency, dramatically reduces infrastructure costs and creates a more scalable, sustainable model for distributed computing.

For Sytronix, the partnership further demonstrates the versatility of its engineering expertise beyond traditional enterprise infrastructure. The company recently gained international recognition after achieving the world’s highest Blender CPU benchmark score and has announced strategic collaborations across Africa and the Middle East focused on sovereign AI and advanced compute infrastructure.

As demand for high performance, distributed computing continues to grow, both organisations believe decentralised infrastructure models will play an increasingly important role in delivering next-generation digital experiences.

Sytronix is a British manufacturer of high-performance computing infrastructure for AI, high performance computing, rendering and advanced digital workflows. With in house design and engineering, the company builds compute platforms that prioritise efficiency, scalability and sustainable performance.

YOM is a decentralised GPU edge-compute network that turns idle consumer hardware into ultra-low-latency infrastructure for AI inference, rendering and real-time cloud gaming. By orchestrating compute at the edge, closer to the user than centralised data centres, YOM delivers sub-10ms latency at a fraction of the cost of legacy cloud, while rewarding hardware owners for the compute they contribute. YOM was named a Gamescom Tech Winner in 2025 and holds an EU Seal of Excellence.
