Channel and partner specialist launches new book and CIM-recognised training courses, alongside a development scheme under Academy umbrella
Partner and channel marketing specialist, Coterie, has launched a new pillar to its business aimed at elevating partner marketing education and boosting skills in the sector.
The Coterie Academy will educate, inform and certify individuals on all aspects of partner marketing. It’s being unveiled today with the launch of a dedicated partner marketing book, a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)-recognised training programme and an upcoming development scheme aimed at helping to fill the skills gap.
The book, called How to be Boundary Spanner, has taken two years for Coterie co-founders Helen Curtis and Jo Dunkley, to write and includes everything a partner marketer needs to launch, run and support successful channel and partner marketing programmes. With chapters including, Acquiring the Right Partners, How to Drive the Right Leads and What Good Partner ROI Looks Like, the book is an essential reference guide for anyone in the ecosystem environment.
Helen Curtis, co-founder of Coterie and Coauthor of How to be a Boundary Spanner, said: “There are plenty of marketing books and some B2B marketing books, but there are none dedicated entirely to UK partner marketing. We wanted to give something back; we know how hard it to to start from scratch when it comes to partner marketing, so we hope with this book we’re taking some of the stress out of that by guiding people through the process.”
Jo Dunkley, co-founder of Coterie and Coauthor of How to be a Boundary Spanner, added: “Both Helen and I wanted to share everything we’ve learnt working in the partner marketing community over the past three decades. We wanted to produce an actionable and informative book that sits on people’s desks as a guide that helps them solve some of the challenges they face. It’s designed for everyone whether you’ve been in marketing for years or whether you’re new to it all.”
The book also includes tried and tested models from Coterie, as well as contributions from the Coterie Community, an established group of partner marketers who meet to share, learn and help each other with all elements of partner marketing.
Coterie is not stopping there when it comes to raising the profile of partner marketing through education. Under the Coterie Academy umbrella, the firm has also launched its CIM-recognised training programme.
The learning journeys are suitable for anyone from beginners to more experienced marketers and are designed to guide participants through every stage of partner marketing. There are three levels: Basics of Partner Marketing, Mult-Ingredient Ecosystem Marketing and Practitioner in Partner and Ecosystem Marketing certificate.
With dual recognition and accreditation from the CIM and CPD, the courses take around a week to complete via video and Q&A documents and costs just £80 per person. Explained Helen Curtis, “We often find that even if people have worked in marketing for years, they might not fully understand the nuances and the details of running a dedicated partner marketing programme. Not only will these courses help experienced marketers, but we hope they’ll encourage the next generation into partner marketing.”
