Cyber selling to the channel at Exertis’s “Pitch & a Pint” evening


Exertis recently hosted the first of 5 evenings they have planned this year aimed at pitching different cloud and cyber vendors to the channel. The first took place in London for some key MSPs in the channel and was aimed at channel education and enlightenment all hosted by some of the leading vendors in cyber protection and cloud backup this year.

Technology Reseller was there to see what was going on and what the feedback was from MSPs and vendors alike.

The aptly named Pitch and a Pint takes you out of the work setting to mix and socialise with channel partners and vendors on a very personable level in informal surrounding this on a pleasant warm summers evening in South London within throwing distance of Battersea Power Station.

The event was attended by over 25 channel partners whom were presented to by 6 key vendors about different protection, vulnerability scanning, threat detection and back-up solutions which are on the market.

The 15 minute pitches to the channel came from Veeam, Arcserve, Opentext, Esentire, Seceon and Ruckus all of whom had 15 minutes on the mic to woo and impress the channel with their offerings and why their solution is the best to use and implement.

From multiple back up and maintenance checks from the No1 back up provider Veeam who are industry veterans since 2006 offering multiple backup solutions for your servers and estate.

Esentires pitch on network compromise and their supply of intel feeds which are only available to their customers and ability to have decent channel margins for your services.

Opentext pitched a large suite of multiple branded solutions offering security layers to sell including Voltage, Carbonite and Webroot allowing full automated protection for your customers infrastructure and emails.

Seceon providing open threat management for over 7 years managing multi tenanted clients using existing EDR data and AI to suggest solutions to threats it takes existing data and becomes an extension of your MSP in resolving issues for clients.

Arcserve offering multiple solutions for protecting all the client’s data including disaster recovery, failover and physical and virtual protection with constant data checks to monitor source machines.

And finally, to Ruckus offering key networking products for clients from access points and switches allowing network monitoring and interrogation simple and intuitive management and selling opportunities abound in the UK market.

Hosted by a team of Exertis key account managers under the watchful gaze of Dominic Ryles and Matt Swindail from the cyber and cloud teams the evening concluded with individual meet the vendor appointments for the MSPs and a few drinks!

Feedback from the guests and vendors alike was very positive and a lot was learnt about the individual offerings and the MSPs all appreciated the opportunity to talk directly with the vendors and Im sure lots of business will come from the evening.
