Firstcom Europe, the leading Pan European telecoms company based in Bolton, UK, has announced the sale of its Scandinavian operations to Telavox, marking a strategic shift as the company sharpens its focus on its core markets, particularly the UK and Germany.
The structure of the deal remains confidential, though the Scandinavian business represents approximately 15% of annual revenue contribution to Firstcom Europe.
Firstcom entered the Danish market in 2015 and expanded into Sweden in 2017, building sound unified communications businesses across these countries over the past decade. However, with the markets reaching maturity and customer demands evolving, the company has decided to realign its strategy to better serve its long-term objectives.
Christian Bleakley, CEO of Firstcom Europe, says “This move marks a significant turning point in Firstcom’s development, allowing us to focus on our core strengths in unified communications, with our growing product offerings in mobile and IT managed services in the UK and Germany. We are delighted to be partnering with Telavox and representing their products within the UK.”
The transaction will see Firstcom’s Scandinavian operations integrated into Telavox, a prominent communications provider in the Nordic region. As part of the agreement, Firstcom Europe will become an official partner for Telavox in the UK, distributing Telavox solutions alongside Firstcom’s own Universe unified communications product – particularly aimed at serving mid-market SME customers.
