More than half (52%) of 3,000 IT professionals in 14 countries surveyed by Sophos say that cyberthreats are now too advanced for their organisations to deal with on their own, with 55% complaining that time spent on cyberthreats has impacted their IT team’s work on other projects.
More than nine out of ten (93%) find the execution of essential security tasks challenging and 75% struggle to identify the root cause of an incident, making remediation difficult.
Other challenges identified in The State of Cybersecurity 2023: The Business Impact of Adversaries on Defenders include understanding which signals/alerts to investigate and knowing which investigations to prioritise (both cited by 71%).
