Stirrett joins ServiceNow EMEA team

As part of its EMEA growth plan, digital workflow company ServiceNow has recruited Damian Stirrett as Group Vice President and GM, UK and Ireland.

With more than 25 years’ experience in the technology sector, Stirrett was most recently Microsoft General Manager for Enterprise Commercial Business in Western Europe. Before that, he held senior roles at Hewlett-Packard, in accounts and HP Services for UK & Ireland.

New COO and CFO at Version 1

Version 1 a leader in digital transformation, has announced the appointments of Louise Lahiff as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Patrick Cooney as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as part of its ongoing growth strategy.

Louise Lahiff has been with Version 1 for a decade and was the first woman to join the board of Version 1’s software entity in July 2022. In her new role, she will lead delivery functions across the UK, Ireland, India and US.

Patrick Cooney joins Version 1 from Kerry Group plc, where he served as Europe CFO for nine years, taking over from Andrew Langford who is retiring after almost seven years as Version 1 CFO. Cooney will spearhead Version 1’s financial growth strategy during a time of rapid expansion through acquisition and progression into new markets.

Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland announces four new trustees

Scotland’s leading organisation for strengthening businesses’ cyber resilience, the Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland, is boosting its knowledge and expertise with the appointment of four new trustees and expanding its geographical footprint with the appointment of Aberdeen-based Alex Dowall as its new Head of Fraud and Cyber.

The new trustees are DCC Bex Smith, who has more than 20 years of policing experience; Bruce Harrison, recently retired as Managing Director at investment manager BlackRock; Gerry Magee, currently UK Brand and Marketing Director at Betfred; and Sophie Hodgson, who brings experience in strategic communications from her role as Director of Corporate Communications at Secureworks.

The appointment of former Police Scotland Detective Superintendent Alex Dowall as Head of Fraud and Cyber gives Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland a presence in Aberdeen in addition to Dundee and Edinburgh.

He said: “This new role is a continuation of my lifelong commitment to public safety and justice. My time at Police Scotland, particularly leading the Cyber Investigations and Digital Forensics Department, has given me a unique vantage point on the technological aspects of crime-fighting.
The Cyber and Fraud Centre and partner organisations have already achieved significant success with the Fraud Triage Hub, which has helped protect countless victims and disrupt major fraud networks. As I take on this new position, I’m eager to apply my specialised expertise to further strengthen our defences against cyber and fraud-related crimes.”

Ray Stanton takes up board advisory role at Bridewell

UK cyber security firm Bridewell has appointed Ray Stanton as a Board Adviser to support the company’s growth strategy within critical national infrastructure (CNI) and the setting up of a Customer Advisory Board to help guide the development of new service offerings.

A former CISO and CSO, Stanton has 30- plus years’ experience in cyber security and risk management in the UK, US and Nordics, including senior roles at BT, National Grid, IBM, TDC Group and Airbus UK.

New Channel Manager at Exterro

Exterro, a provider of data risk management software solutions, has appointed Paul Whitehouse as Channel Manager – Europe for Digital Forensics. Previously a Digital Media Investigator and Police Officer at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, Whitehouse will lead the company’s digital forensics programmes in Europe.

Conor Whelan joins The Access Group

Business management software provider The Access Group has recruited Conor Whelan as its new Group Chief Information Officer (GCIO) with responsibility for strategically managing the
group’s technological resources to support organic and inorganic growth.

Previously UK Chief Operations Officer & Chief Information Officer at Experian and Group CIO at global insurance broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson, Whelan was listed in the Global UK Top 100 CIOs in 2021, reaching the Top 10 in 2023.

Kinly, the global AV solutions and services provider, has bolstered its innovation team with the appointment of Mark Faugstad as Product & Business Development Manager – Immersive Collaboration.
