Last month, Network Group (NG) proudly announced our support for Target Ovarian Cancer (TOC) at our annual Exhibition, Gala & Awards event. We went to our Membership to request nominations for this year’s charity partner, with Sean Jones, of Member company Jones Business Systems, stepping forward to nominate TOC in memory of his late wife Mandy.
Sean bravely shared his story with his peers, describing his beloved Mandy as ‘kind as an angel, patient, and sharp as a knife’. Heartbreakingly, Mandy’s life was taken too soon by ovarian cancer. Aptly described by Sean as ‘a silent killer’, with many women, including Mandy, not being diagnosed until stage four. As a result, the treatment is often palliative.
We’re truly humbled by Sean’s vulnerability and openness with the Group, and we’re thrilled to share we raised £15,657 for TOC on the night. This money will go towards helping achieve early diagnosis, investment in research, and support for families.
Sean himself kicked off the fundraising, donating €1,000 directly to TOC, followed by NG Member Steven Lightfoot putting his Heads & Tails prize back up for auction, won by our Chairman Perry Ashby for an additional £500.

Marie Devlin, Network Group’s Head of Marketing, said: “Sometimes it’s nice to have an opportunity to combine work with a greater cause and that’s exactly what our recent Gala event enabled us to do! Thanks to the generosity of our Members & Partners we were able to raise over £15.5k of much needed funds for TOC…the most we have ever raised in the 14 years we’ve been running this event! The work this charity does is a lifeline for so many and it was nice to have the opportunity to make a very small contribution!”
We’d like to thank our Members and Partners for their incredibly generous donations to the raffle and auction, buying raffle tickets, bidding, and donating directly to TOC. This is a life-changing, and lifesaving, amount of money.
You can find out more about TOC on their website, and you can contact Lucia Heard directly via email.
