Palo Alto Networks reinforces its commitment to the UK with the opening of its new headquarters in the City of London and expansion of its UK operations

Palo Alto Networks, the global cybersecurity leader, announced today the opening of its new UK headquarters located at 22 Bishopsgate in the City of London and plans to create 485 new cybersecurity jobs over the next 5 years as it invests to support its growing customer base across the UK.

Helmut Reisinger, CEO of EMEA and LATAM for Palo Alto Networks

“As the UK works towards achieving the Government’s ambition of becoming a technology and scientific superpower by 2030, cybersecurity will be critical to its success. As new technologies transform how organisations across the UK operate, they are fueling a rapid increase in cyber threats that directly impact the levels of resilience and trust in an interconnected economy,” said Helmut Reisinger, CEO of EMEA and LATAM for Palo Alto Networks. “We are thrilled to welcome our customers, partners, and employees to our new headquarters in London, and we look forward to expanding our UK operations as we invest to safeguard the UK’s digital future.”

Palo Alto Networks new UK headquarters is located on the 55th floor, and will be home to several functions, including sales, customer support, systems engineers, and Unit 42 threat intelligence experts. The building stands at 278 metres and it is the second tallest in the City of London. It has also been awarded an Excellent sustainability rating by BREEAM, an assessment and certification system used to specify and measure the sustainability performance of buildings.

Palo Alto Networks established a presence in the UK in 2009, and has experienced rapid growth as customers increasingly adopt the company’s unique AI-driven cybersecurity platforms to protect their networks, cloud assets and endpoints and run their security operations centre. To support its growing customer base across the UK, Palo Alto Networks plans to increase its UK headcount across sales and systems engineers, as well as build out its Unit 42 threat intelligence, cyber advisory, and incident response capabilities in the UK.

“Our new UK headquarters and continued investment in the UK builds on Palo Alto Networks commitment to the UK over the past 14 years, and will create new jobs and enhance our ability to help our customers stay ahead of emerging cyber threats,”  said Gavin Mee, Vice President of Northern and Western Europe at Palo Alto Networks. “As the digitalisation of industries in the UK accelerates, cybercriminals are becoming more sophisticated, innovative, and persistent, and we see it as our mission to protect the growth of the UK with the very best cybersecurity platforms”.

Expanding Cybersecurity Skills Across the UK

As Palo Alto Networks continues to grow across the UK, it is committed to fostering knowledge and skills development to encourage people from all backgrounds to choose a career in cybersecurity. The company collaborates with public and private partners to deliver educational programmes and content to demonstrate new career pathways available for everyone, regardless of background or level of experience.
In the UK, Palo Alto Networks is partnering with the UK’s National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) CyberFirst Girls Competition, to help inspire young people interested in technology to pursue a career in cyber security. As part of its partnership, a “Capture the Flag” event will be held at Palo Alto Networks new offices in London on 6th October for pupils from schools across London. The event will involve a range of fun challenges including trivia, puzzles, and digital forensics.
