Phoenix Software is proud to announce that IT Technical Consultant, Leaha Torres, has officially achieved the prestigious Broadcom VCF Knight – NSX certification, Broadcom’s highest honour for partner professionals. This elite designation recognises outstanding technical leadership, deep expertise, and innovation across Broadcom technologies, including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and NSX.
The Broadcom Knight programme identifies and elevates top technical experts with advanced mastery in architecture, implementation, and support of Broadcom solutions. Knights play a crucial role in enabling partners to successfully deploy VMware Cloud Foundation within complex customer environments.
Leaha’s achievement is particularly noteworthy: she is one of the youngest professionals — and the first female in the UK — to receive this certification.
This milestone further strengthens Phoenix’s long-standing VMware by Broadcom capabilities as a UK Pinnacle and Expert Advantage Partner.
Who is Leaha Torres?
Leaha joined Phoenix in October 2022 on the service desk, progressing quickly from first-line/second-line support to third-line support, where she specialised in infrastructure and developed a keen interest and expertise in VMware technologies. By November 2024, she had secured a consultant role, having already achieved VMware Certified Professional status the previous year.
Leaha’s enthusiasm for tech and IT continues outside of work. A self-confessed ‘VMware nerd’, Leaha lives and breathes everything VMware – to the point of building her own 4-server Home Lab in her lounge. She uses the lab to experiment, test ideas, and build in-depth technical guides — many of which end up benefiting Phoenix customers directly.
Her personal technical blog, is quickly becoming a go-to resource for fellow IT practitioners. With a networking/ storage focus borne of her love of VMware and Veeam solutions, Leaha’s blog is packed full of detailed technical guides, how-tos and documentation for the likes of VMware, HP, Nutanix, Veeam etc., drawn directly from her experience at work and tinkerings on the Home Lab.
“A collector of technical badges”
Leaha’s enthusiasm for deepening her VMware expertise is palpable. “Whenever I spot something interesting — a certification, a programme, a new challenge — I go for it. I’ve kind of turned into a collector of technical badges. But for me, they’re less about status and more about unlocking new learning paths and challenges. Certifications open doors, but there is no substitute for practical experimentation. This is what makes you actually good at what you do.” remarks Leaha.
Clare Metcalfe, MD of Phoenix Software comments, “Leaha epitomises everything that makes #TeamPhoenix what it is. A real team player, forever curious, and with an infectious enthusiasm – chunks of enthusiasm no less! – that she lifts up everyone in her team. Leaha is a true example of the spirit that makes Phoenix such a special place to work.”
Not stopping here – more certifications in the pipeline
Leaha is not one to rest on her laurels. Despite already being Knighted in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) – NSX, she has her sights set on at least two more Knight specialisms; Operations (which she is already studying for) and Kubernetes.
In addition to being a Broadcom VCF Knight, Leaha was also recently awarded vExpert status in recognition for her contribution to the VMware community. vExpert status is awarded to individuals who demonstrate significant contributions, evangelism, and community advocacy regarding VMware technology. Beyond VMware, Leaha has also joined the Veeam Vanguards, Veeam’s top‑level influencer community made up of recognised experts across diverse technical fields.
