Xelion has announced version 9.5 of its unified communications platform, revealed by Operations Director Will Scully during a partner webinar. The latest release introduces in-platform AI-driven features, improved security and user experience enhancements.
AI focus
The headline feature in Xelion 9.5 is AI-powered transcription, which enables calls to be transcribed automatically or on demand. All transcription is handled via Xelion’s in-house AI service, which can connect to internal or external providers depending on the use case. This ensures privacy, security and flexibility while maintaining full control over how processing is handled. Recordings are now in stereo, separating each speaker into their own audio channel to improve attribution and accuracy.
On launch, transcriptions are available through the Xelion API, allowing partners to integrate call intelligence directly into their own applications, BI dashboards or CRM systems.
That same API foundation also powers another major update, the new GPT API Helper. Trained on the full Xelion API documentation, this AI tool allows developers to query the API in natural language, helping partners test and scope integration projects faster.
Security and usability enhancements
Version 9.5 also brings secure encrypted SIP from the Xelion server to Xelion devices, major call quality improvements on mobile apps with in-app feedback linked to call data, a new Communication Log app for end users, updated Windows and MacOS apps, and deeper Microsoft Teams integration.
As ever, updates will first be rolled out to partner servers, giving partners the opportunity to test, validate, and explore new capabilities before deployment to end-user environments. This approach ensures stability while keeping partners at the forefront of innovation.

Dave Reynolds, Managing Director of Xelion UK, commented:
“Everything we do is about helping our partners deliver the best possible experience for their customers. We’re delighted with the new features in version 9.5 – especially the AI components, which are a clear sign of things to come.
Xelion keeps getting better and better, and we’re committed to continually pushing updates that make life easier for partners and end users alike.”
With the upcoming launch of Xelion Plus later this year, version 9.5 sets the stage for an even more intelligent, secure and open communications platform that continues to evolve alongside partner needs.
