Datum Datacentres has been named a finalist in the Tech Company of the Year category at the Hampshire Business Awards 2026.
Datum opened its first data centre (FRN1) on the Cody Technology Park site in 2013 with a second facility (FRN2) currently under construction and due to complete in 2027. It also owns and runs two facilities in Manchester (MCR1 and MCR2) following the opening of its newest Manchester facility in June 2025. Between 2020 and 2025 the business sustained impressive revenue and EBITDA growth as it expanded capacity for the colocation services its clients buy.
The Hampshire Business Awards, run by Insider Media, is now in its fourth year and features twelve categories covering businesses of every size. The Tech Company of the Year category recognises technology businesses in the county that have shown innovation and growth. Winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony on Thursday 26 November 2026 at the Old Thorns Hotel and Resort in Liphook.
Dominic Phillips, CEO of Datum, said: “We have been based in Farnborough since we opened our first data centre here in 2013, so being shortlisted for an award run by and for the county means something to us. This shortlisting reflects years of consistent delivery by our team while we build out capacity in Farnborough and Manchester. It also reflects the part we play in the local region – providing local employment, and partnering with local education establishments to offer tours, placements and apprenticeships that give young people in the region a route into our industry.“
Datum’s entry also reflects the way sustainability has shaped the design of its newer facilities, including the cooling systems used across its estate.
