Voiceworks has launched SIP+, a new proposition set to challenge one of the channel’s most familiar commercial models: paying for SIP channels before a single call is made.
For years, many partners have bought SIP in the same way: channel capacity first, usage second, margin squeezed somewhere in the middle. Voiceworks is taking a different route. With SIP+, partners get free SIP channels and only pay for the minutes their customers use.
The move is designed to give resellers more room to build their own propositions, protect margin and compete on something stronger than another version of the same old SIP model.
SIP+ gives partners a choice of PAYG, bundled or aggregated usage options, so they can build SIP around how their customers actually use voice rather than paying for capacity upfront. Voiceworks will work alongside partners to review the current setup, find the right commercial fit and support a smooth transition to SIP+.
Gareth Long, Managing Director at Voiceworks, said:
“The channel has accepted SIP channel charges for a long time but accepted does not mean right. Partners are under pressure to protect margin and find new ways to compete, so we think it is time to ask a very simple question: why are they still paying for SIP channels?
SIP+ is our answer. This is not about launching another version of the same thing. We want to shake up a market that has become too comfortable with the way things are. ‘That’s how it’s always been done’ isn’t a good enough reason to keep doing it.
SIP+ isn’t about cutting the price to cut corners. Partners still get the features, flexibility and support they need to serve their customers, but with more room to make the commercials work for their business”
Partners ready to rethink their SIP costs can speak to the Voiceworks team now to explore what SIP+ could mean for their business.
