Exertis Fusion – Premier League winning event in Manchester.

Last week saw the first Fusion event from Exertis take place at the Etihad stadium in Manchester.

The day was well attended by many MSPs and resellers to learn about the latest developments and vendor offerings in both the cloud and cyber marketplaces.

Vendors present included Microsoft, Vimeo Enterprise, Adobe, Dell, eSentire, OpenText Cybersecurity, CyberSmart, Exclaimer, ColorTokens, Arcserve, Exertis Voice, HP Poly, SonicWall and AvePoint. 

After kicking off the day with an entertaining introduction from Vishal Chhatralia the panel discussion of the day took place, moderated by Angelo Apa on the topics of AI risk reduction and cloud enablement. Which included some interesting comments from the panel who was made up of Dominic Ryles Director of Cyber Security at Exertis, Managing Director of Cloud and Software James Yates, Stephen Wood from OpenText Cybersecurity and Andy Porter from Microsoft.

James Yates continued the morning session with his view on the cloud and opportunities that are coming up for resellers with Exertis. 2024 will see a wealth of opportunity in the UC area with switch off now happening and so many businesses and buildings with old technology installed requiring upgrade.

Andy Porter from Microsoft presented the opportunity for monetisation of the new MS Copilot and how resellers can sell the product as a bolt on to existing licences agreement for additional revenue and explained the features and tools available in Copilot which make it such a force to be reckoned with in automation and AI.

Adobe’s Karine Couvreur took us on an exhilarating journey into the future of digital creativity taking us through all the new feature and tricks AI-generative tools, Firefly, and how they are poised to redefine the reseller landscape in the coming years.

Rob Tomlin, Vice President of Dell Technologies, spoke before lunch about the data servers and the move towards now being channel focused again – more news of the partner first storage program to come from Dell for 2024. This is certainly a change in direction for Dell and a very interesting opportunity for the channel and reseller to look at what is on offer.

 The afternoon sessions saw Eugenia Oswaldt from Vimeo explain how there is more to Vimeo than everyone thinks (that of being just a video hosting platform) Offering solutions for being a companies complete media platform for internal and external communications. The platform allows users to control turning media into truly interactive content perfect for the modern workplace. Reseller opportunities are huge as using the platform enhanced AI features and offerings allow content creation and control all in one place.

Steve Jobburns and Nick Birtwhistle showed us the features and opportunities in the UC sector for 2024 and beyond with Exertis voice with PSTN switch off just around the corner. The unique AI features of the Exertis voice platform make this an excellent opportunity for resellers. Dominic Ryles took us through the offering and landscape in Cybersecurity, tips and overviews of what is happening in the market and how best take advantage of the Exertis portfolio.

Jamie Woodruff entertained, shocked and humoured the audience with a keynote speech on cybercrime today with his thrilling anecdotes and real-world experiences, he revealed the unseen world of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and groundbreaking solutions. This keynote was a real eye opener for all.

Microsegmentation to underpin your security stack and gaining full visibility of your assets across the network and underlining you Zero trust journey was the presentation from Kevin Ware-Lane from Colortokens.

The day finished with eSentires Phil Skelton and Dylan Casey showing how they can contain threats within 15 mins with a spot light on the real world of cybersecurity threats. Their demonstration revealed the incredible capabilities that empower organisations to defend against the most cunning cyber adversaries.
