UCaaS developer Xelion has seen a positive response to the release of Xelion 8.2, the update to its increasingly popular unified communications app.
Xelion 8.2 adds enhanced contact centre features, including “Webchat”, a brand-new live chat widget embedded into end users’ websites. The vast majority of the nearly 200,000-strong user base has updated already, with no reported bugs or outages as a result.
Thanks to Xelion’s unique licensing structure, all users receive all new features at no additional cost. There is a single licence per user, which includes all features via the desktop client, mobile app and physical desk phones.
Key new features include:
- Webchat: A live chat widget embedded on the user’s website, enabling more omni-channel functionality. This can be delivered through a WordPress plugin or an embed code for non-WordPress sites.
- Call logging: Users can now assign tags and descriptions to calls after they are completed, to give more insight into the types of calls they receive.
- Enhanced hunt group management: Admins have more control over hunt groups and individual users.
- Exception scheduling: Users can now schedule exceptions to opening hours and call queues without reseller support, and record any messages directly into the app.
- Upgraded call reporting: Ad hoc and automated reports now contain more options.
Xelion added the features based on direct end user and partner feedback. Partners can directly request new features via Xelion’s ticketing system.
The key theme from the feedback was that users want greater contact centre functionality, even if they are not traditional contact centres.
These new features form part of a platform that already includes omni-channel communication, call reporting and recording, IVR and automatic integration with WhatsApp Business and the Microsoft ecosystem.
The update comes at no additional cost, and the vast majority of the user base has already upgraded successfully. This is yet another success for this growing UCaaS provider, which is increasing its profile and user base through a highly flexible app alongside a uniquely simple licensing structure.
Xelion’s UK Managing Director, Dave Reynolds, said:
“We’ve been delighted with the response to Xelion 8.2. We listen to our user base and our partners about what features they would like to see. What we’re finding is that more businesses want contact centre features, even if they’re not traditional contact centres.
They want more efficiency, and these new features deliver it. It’s part of our commitment to create a platform that continuously improves without increasing in cost. The response from partners and users has been resoundingly positive, and it’s a pleasure to keep working with them on making Xelion the most flexible UCaaS platform in the channel.”
