ProVu employees to tackle 24-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in aid of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
Members of Huddersfield-based communications and networking specialist Distributor, ProVu Communications are preparing to take on one of Yorkshire’s most demanding walking challenges next month, with the aim of raising vital funds for local charity Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
Four members of the ProVu team; Managing Director Justin Carl, Technical Solutions Director Muhammad Bajwa, Group Marketing Manager Kate Figg, Technial Support Team Leader, Luke Warby and Sales Development Representative Andrew Riding will tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks on Saturday 12th September.
The challenge will see the team complete the 24-mile route through the Yorkshire Dales, taking in the three peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, with approximately 1,585 metres of ascent to conquer along the way. The team will also be working against the traditional 12-hour target for completing the route.
The challenge forms the first event in a planned programme of fundraising activities by the ProVu team, with the aim of supporting the work of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, which provides care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
Commenting on the challenge, ProVu’s Managing Director Justin Carl said: “We have all been touched by the amazing work Forget Me Not does for families across our local area and we wanted to do something that would not only raise money but also challenge us as a team.
“The Yorkshire Three Peaks certainly gives us a challenge! Twenty-four miles and three peaks is going to test us and I’m sure there will be some very tired legs and aching feet by the end of it.
“This is just the first event in our fundraising calendar and our aim is to raise as much as we can for this incredible charity. We’re really looking forward to getting out there, taking on the challenge together and hopefully getting plenty of support along the way.”
The team is encouraging customers, suppliers, partners and friends to support their fundraising efforts, with every donation helping Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice continue its work with local families.
